EEL 4665 Intelligent Machine Design Lab Criteria
- Design, build, and program an autonomous mobile robot using parts combined with novel circuits and mechanics of your design. You can design your own PC boards or buy a pre-built board.
- Build a scaled-down version (using a lot of off the shelf components) of the hardware as (1) above but with significant software to implement sophisticated machine intelligence behaviors.
- Build a very sophisticated mechanical system emphasizing the hardware / platform / mechanisms with less sophisticated software. The professor(s) MUST PRE-APPROVE this option.
Robot must possess a minimum of 4 types of sensors:
- Proximity detectors (e.g., IR, Sonar, etc.),
- Bump sensors (e.g., mechanical sensors, bend, tilt, etc.),
- A unique “special” sensory system of your own design,
- Anything else you want/can afford (e.g., encoders, voice, GPS, wireless camera, etc.)
